For my card, I used Sitting LaLa and created wrapped pressies to sit her on. ☺
And now, I'd like to share what else I've brought to the virtual birthday party... dinner and music ♫ I thought it would be fun to serenade Lisa with music from her past! Below is a fun video of her childhood icon, Donny Osmond (na, this won't date you at all Lis!) LOL! Turn your volume up and enjoy these pictures to the song "Puppy Love"
I hope you'll join the fun by hopping along!!
Your NEXT stop is LAURIE GATTON.

Nothin' says lovin' from the oven like a Little Yummy for Your Tummy stamps at KLSNS!! HA! you thought I was gonna say Pillsbury, didn't you?! ☺ I paired up this Baking Tilda Magnolia with the Eskimo Kisses paper by Basic Grey and used this week's Friday Sketchers! Sorry my picture's a li'l dark but it's late and one of my lightbulbs is burned out :( I was also trying to capture the sparkly gellyroll pens on this card... her socks, scarf, stripes on dress, and flower squiggles.
Happy Friday!! It's also the day after Thanksgiving here, and in the spirit of giving thanks, I wanted to share a birthday card I made for a wonderful friend whom I'm very thankful for, Lisa Hjulberg. She's celebrating a very *special* birthday this weekend (although I won't tell HOW special *wink*).
And I made another one of these Victorian Rose collector ornaments and sent to Lisa for her birthday. She's just recieved it so I am not spoiling the surprise! LOL.Wishing you a very Happy Birthday Lisa!!
Hope you have a wonderful birthday weekend!!
A Happy Hello from La-La Land!! :) Today we have a new challenge for you! It's a recipe challenge, but don't worry, this recipe won't put on the calories when finished (unlike the yummy Thanksgiving dinner we'll consume tomorrow!) heehee. Our hostess this week is Maureen and she wants us to make a card or other project using...
Happy Tuesday! Hope you're doing better than my daughter who's home sick today.
It's time for another Sunday challenge at Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenges. We are very honored to have our very first sponsor, Our Daily Bread Designs, back again and donating this fabulous Christmas stamp set just in time to make some beautiful cards for the holidays!
This will go to one random player and it could be waiting for you! I know this week will be super busy with the holidays and such, but I do hope you'll take the time to come join us in fellowship and enjoy our DT's inspiration and be uplifted up by the Word of God.I'm looking forward to thanksgiving with mom and dad this year. I'm thankful for family that lives close by so we can get together for holidays and such. I'm also thankful for all my friends including all of you... my blog friends! Thanks for visiting me every so often and chatting when you do.
Here was my first card. The wreath stamp is by Verve and is prettier than I made it look, LOL - but I'm sure my mom will like it though, so this one's going to her.
I will leave you with a request... a silent prayer request. We all need lifting up in prayer at times and although it seems a little weird at times to ask it for myself or my family, sometimes we just need to ask. So, thank you... in advance. Hope you have a wonderful Sunday.
After several failed attempts at a card last night, I finally ended up with this card. This is about my 3rd sketch and 2nd coloring of the image. Things just weren't working for me yesterday. So I decided to stickle her dress, horn and wings and call it good! LOL - *sigh* ♫ My mama said there'll be days like this ♫ ...oh, sorry! LOL! I followed this sketch by Friday Sketchers:

This will be such an easy challenge this week that I don't know I could actually call it a "challenge" LOL - we all make Thank You cards don't we? Well, instead of a card this week I decided to challenge myself to make a thanksgiving project. I've made one of these woven baskets before, but it's been quite a while. Here's my previous post with link to a tutorial. (never mind my Halloweeny colors... I prefer to think of them as HARVEST colors and I plan on putting this on the side table for Thanksgiving this year for all to enjoy!)

This stamp is called Pumpkin LaLa... and is one of my faves. Isn't she cute? OOOH, I just remembered I was suppose to make some thank you cards for the volunteers at church who put on our Harvest Party! ... I better get on that! Wheeee! The blue and white layers are embossed with the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder for a li'l added texture.

Happy Sunday Morning!! It's time for another fun card challenge at Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenges!
Laura (owner of LOC) has been soo wonderful to work with these past couple of weeks behind the scenes. Very sweet and I just have to mention, she so graciously donated this brand new release clear stamp set to myself and my other 2 Sr. Design Team members, Lisa and Kathy! A Huge Thank You Laura for your generosity!! Here's what I made with this beautiful set:
I (once again) used my favorite Hickory strips (McMahon Five Designs) to make a window frame. The larger butterfly is 2-toned with rust and ruby red and stamped on designer paper. I folded the side flaps in and taped together and hid the seem with some wide celery satin ribbon and tied on top. It also helps hold the "valance" on.
And yes, I have a 3rd one too! LOL - call me ambitious... that's me! I am not quite finished with this one... it still needs a sentiment on the front. That's where I got stumped. I hate to cover up the pretty paper, but it feels incomplete to me, so I'll think about it some more. Any ideas? :)

I also will be giving away a little prize of my own, drawn randomly from comments left on my blog hop post here. Winner will be announced at the end of the hop Sunday night. Thank You!

YAY, it's the weekend, and full of fun surprises and prizes!! But I'll get to that later. My daughter is going to a birthday party this afternoon so I whipped up a card for her to take. My sister and I sometimes do our own personal "sister challenges" and it's been a while since we've done one, so last night we decided to both use our SOTM club stamp from Paper Pretties! Isn't she cute? Hop on over to Kathy's blog to see what she made with this Make a Wish Sophia! (after you finish reading mine first of course! *wink*)
I used this Paper Pretties stamp called "Make a Wish Sophia" and all my decorative papers came from Paper Pretties too! In fact, they have a ton of really cute papers over there as well as stamps and other embellishments! Want a chance to WIN a free stamp set from Paper Pretties? Christie is sponsoring us at Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenges this week, so head on over and enter to win!!

I just want to mention that our sponsor this week at Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenges is none other than Christie Ortman of Paper Pretties!! She is also being featured today as our lovely Guest Designer on the challenge blog, so take a moment to hop over there and see her fabulous challenge card and get to know more about her store!! :)
Digital Delights is having a fun cookie exchange party tonight from 6-7 p.m. CST over on the SNR forum, so get out your favorite holiday recipes and come join us!! Everyone who comes and brings their favorite recipe will get another super cute (surprise) Christmas Digi FREE!!
I printed 2 of this digi so I could cut out his legs hanging over the bowl and pop dot them! I also used liqued applique for the frosting in bowl and for the ric rac on her arms and legs. Sparkly gellyroll pens for her buttons and bow, and of course lots of Dazzing Diamonds all over the huge snowflake. This is another Friday Sketchers entry of mine. =)
I hope you're enjoying your Veteran's Day, which for many of us means a day off of work! I just wanted to pop on here today and remind you about our Card Drive we're doing this week at Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenges! Please, if you get some time to make a patriotic card, or any other THANK YOU type of card for our military soldiers... OR, any type of cards for them to write home to their loved ones (birthday, anniversary, miss you, etc) ... all types are welcome and very much appreciated!! (Please note that there are specifications such as use a white or light colored card base as they may just have a pencil to write in it... and please no glitter that can flake off, size requirements etc. are noted on the challenge blog). Our Design Team member Candace is going to send a (hopefully big) box of cards to Operation Write Home on Nov. 28th, so you have until then to send some cards her way. You can find her email address in our challenge post HERE. Thank you!!
It's time for a fun LaLa Weekly Wednesday Challenge!! This week our hostess is Kathy and she wants us to use our Die Cuts and Punches!! You can use any stamps you want, but if you have La-Las, why not show them some love! You will have til Sunday night to enter to win this Building Snowman Maya stamp that I've used here!!
I decided to make a SNOW GLOBE! Well, a card that looks like one anyway! =) This was so fun to make. I saw this tutorial over at SCS. I had to adjust my measurements since this image was too large for the measurements given. (I believe I cut my circle 4.5" in diameter and they called for a 3.75") Aren't these some of the CUTEST winter stamps?!! Here's a sideview so you can see how I did the inside. It says, "There's no friend like a SNOW friend" which I printed from my computer.
Come on over to La-La Land Crafts blog to see more inspiration by the awesome Design Team and Guest Designers!!
See ya in La-La Land!!
