A Waggy TILT card for Faith's Dad

I have a fun little card to share. But first I'll tell you who it's for. Faith is the owner of Designed 2 Delight who provides us all with DELIGHTFUL digi images for FREE every week (in her progressive challenges) ... and her dad recently had back surgery and is doing much better thank goodness, but has a long recovery at home soon. So this one's for him. (If you'd like to send him a get well card in the mail, please email me at breach4 [at] msn [dot] com for his address.)

I used Faith's Snow Dog digi, and just used the doggy's head for my card. I then drew a tail and made a "TILT CARD" with his tail. There's a great tutorial on SCS HERE for that! So when you tilt the card, his tail "wags" ... heehee!

Quick Fire Challenge with My Sis

Happy Sunday to ya!! So last night my sister and I were chatting on IM and we decided to do a "Quick Fire CHallenge"... to make a card in 45 minutes. We also both used this image that we got from Designed2Delight called "Fallin' In Love" (the snowflakes have hearts on the tips!) I'm a member of Faith's digi group over at Crafter's Digital Art Center and she offered a $2.00 coupon code for reaching 200 members! We were allowed to use it towards any digi in the shop! What's really funny is that my sister Kathy and I went shopping seperately and w/o knowing what the other was getting, we both picked the same digi!!

Funny. We also wanted to use a sketch from SKETCHES BY CARLY, so this is the one I used on my card (turned it sideways).

Double Delight #8 {Summertime}

Summer's not over yet!! So let's bask in the colors of summer a little longer!! Tweet Blessings & a New Sketch Blog

Hi again! I'm so glad it's almost the weekend. But summer's quickly coming to an end and kids will be going back to school soon. Not sure I'm ready for that routine yet, Lol. Anyways, I wanted to share a couple of cards that were sent to me this week. The top one is by my friend and former DT sister, Peggysue Turner. I just LOVE this beautiful card with the colors and that elegant birdhouse image! I'm gonna have to find out where to get that stamp! And your liquid pearls and punched pieces...LOVE IT! It was indeed a sweet "tweet blessing!"

And this second awesome card is from my sister Kathy! She used Swinging LaLa which was from the summer release at LaLa Land, (and by the way all previous releases are on SALE for 25% OFF!!) I just LOVE these colors and papers and flourishes and pearls. Another sweet card!

And now I have some fun news!! My daughter Carly has been drawing up card sketches for fun... sometimes at the request of her aunt kathy and I and then I make them into digi sketches. Straight Out of Our Garden

Whenever my in-laws had company for dinner (or any meal) my late Father-in-law used to shock people when he told them "it's out of our garden!" It could have been anything mom cooked. And when they'd say, "Really?" he'd reply, "ya, it wasn't IN it!" LOL!! Ok, maybe that's an old one, but he sure got a kick out of saying that. Anywho... our garden didn't do too well again this year. The deer ate the cauliflower and broccoli heads, but they couldn't get the potatoes. So we ate potatoes last night that really were grown IN our garden ;P - red potatoes in fact. Some were still too small, but we got a few nice sized ones, just enough for dinner.

My li'l chef, Maddy helped wash and cut them up. Then we toss them in a bowl with about 1-2 TBSP of oil.

and add a packet of McCormick Toasted Onion & Garlic SeasoningGently toss to coat
It says to line your shallow baking pan with foil, but I don't do that because the foil tears when trying to lift them off after baking, and this way, you can scrape all the goodies off the bottom of the pan with your spatula.
YUMMY!

Elegant Poinsettia Flourish

Hello and happy Monday! Before I get to my card, I wanted to say that we, at McMahon 5 Designs are saying goodbye to the very talented Lorelie as she steps away to work on a new venture of her own... we'll sure miss you and your fabulous M5D creations Lorelie!!

So... here's a Christmas card I made the other day using this gorgeous Poinsettia Flourish digi by McMahon 5 Designs. I used an exacto knife to cut 2 sides of some of the petals so they could pop up and show the black underneath. Gives it more dimension. I also used Labels 13 for the Black layer, and I paper pierced holes all around and then took a needle and some sparkly gold thread and hand-sewed around the Nestie. I machine stitched each panel with the same gold thread. I watercolored the image and added some champaign pearls to the flower center.

Arrrgh! Pirate Luka Easel Card

Here's another cutie from LaLa Land Crafts name Pirate Luka. My sister Kathy and I are doing a fun "sister challenge" today which is just to use this Luka digi and see how different our cards come out. Fun, fun! *Ü* (You can get him as a digi for just a couple more days before he's gone! He'll be returning on September 15th in rubber! )

I decided to make mine an easel card. I'm also entering this in Scrap Creations Basic Grey challenge which is FAIRY TALES. I actually googled it to see if pirates were a fairytale and yes, they actually are! LOL. (well, we have heard of modern-day pirates in the news lately and they are very real as well... but we won't "go there")

Here's a close up. I colored him with Copics, and added sparkly gellyroll pen to his buttons. You can see a larger version by clicking on him.

Ok, so I wanted to participate in Scrap Creations Basic Grey Challenge this week, which is Fairy Tales. So I thought of Goldilocks and the 3 bears... PANDA bears that is! LOL. But... I forgot to color her hair gold! However, this card is still inspired by that story. *Ü* (oh wait, is that story actually a "fairy tale"??? or just a children's story?) Anywho...

I used this SWEET DREAMS MARCI which is still available for a limited time as a DIGI at LaLa Land Crafts! Also, there is a panda bear as well... and they will be coming out in rubber on September 15th along with several other cute Marci's.

It's Saturday, and that means it's time for another DOUBLE DELIGHT challenge using this week's D2D freebie. This cute digi, "Fishin' Around" was emailed to you for FREE if you followed last week's challenge at Designed 2 Delight. If you use this image on a card and link up at D2D by Thursday night, you will be emailed next week's image for FREE!

Kathy's challenge is to use ribbon, string or twine. Her bonus challenge for you is to use my (11 yr. old) daughter's sketch that she drew up. She's really on a roll with these. I watched her sketch out about 4 of them in one sitting. Very creative little girl! ANyway, I turned the sketch sideways for my card and used this week's Color Challenge at SCS.

Charisma Card Challenge #33: Die Cuts

I love Fall... my favorite time year (it prolly would be Spring if it weren't for my allergies!) but anyway, I was in the mood to create a harvest card. This SUNFLOWER is a digi from McMahon 5 Designs. I made it a red sunflower because we planted a bunch of red ones this year and I used my daughter's picture of one of ours for my coloring of this. BTW... I photographed this in the evening and it's hard to tell but all the layers of carstock that look black are actually brown (choc. chip).

I combined several Spellbinder's dies for layers, and stiched around the DP with sparkly gold thread. The lattice is a Martha Stewart punch. The sentiment is by Verve. The pearls on the sentiment piece are also from M5D. Speaking of which... have you seen Sue's wooden luminaria?!! She made THIS for her hubby's office and I'm just in awe! What a fabby design... I soo want to try one now! That lady is just so inventive and creative. If you haven't signed up for the McMahon 5 Newsletter, you should! Sweet Dreams Easel

Hello *Ü* It's Wednesday and that means it's my day to post at the LaLa Land Blog!! We've made some changes starting this week and now you'll get to see a new post each and every day... sometimes TWO, like yesterday from Eva and Karen!! I apologize for the late post today, but we had power outages last night when I tried to pre-post, so it had to wait til this a.m.

Anywho... I have this little easel card using SWEET DREAMS MARCI, and having 2 girls of my own, I decided to make this a slumber party invite.

CCCB#18 - Isn't She Lovely (use a girl or lovely lady)

I paper-pieced her night gown, and put her in her sweet little girls' room with cute wallpaper and carpet, and even some lacy curtains! Whaddaya think?
I popped her up using folded cardstock on the back of her so she didn't appear to be glued to the wall! LOL. She can fold flat to mail.
Sweet Dreams Marci was released just yesterday as a digi in the shop... but will only be there for ONE WEEK, so hurry on over to buy her up!! She comes in full color and line drawing!!

Also, Pirate Luka (a boy!) is available as a digi right now too, but only for a couple more days!

Although I've stepped down from Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge Blog a few months ago, I was asked if I'd like to come back and participate in their FIRST BIRTHDAY celebration with a "Favorite Scripture" Hop and I'm so delighted to join in this celebration!

There are so many "favorite verses" that I can't pick just one! And a few of my top favorites I don't have stamps or digis for to share on my card. However, this one was sent to me from a blogger friend, Heidi S. and I decided to use it because I tend to share this one alot with people who are in need of comfort. Just because you're a Christian doesn't mean we will automatically escape the bad things that happen in this world. We don't know why babies die or why cars wreck or planes crash or why families break up... or why good people get cancer or other illnesses and suddenly die. But this vese reminds us that if we love God, than no matter WHAT happens in our lives, He works ALL things together for good according to His purpose. Does that mean He causes bad things to happen? No. But God is able to even make the sufferings work together for our good and glory! There's so much more I could write (and has been written!) on this subject, but I was told to keep it short, so I'll leave you with this...

When fear and worry test your faith

And anxious thoughts assail,

Remember God is in control

And He will never fail.

I posted THIS CARD on Friday for Layers of Color's Faith Art Friday and it was my last as I've decided to step down from the team. I love LOC and Laura and everything her company stands for, and I've made some wonderful Christian friends there as well--so this isn't really "Goodbye" but rather see you around (I know where to find ya ;P) It's been such a blessing to me and I'm so thankful that Laura gave me the opportunity to work with LOC stamps and be a part of the "family" there!! My 2nd Birthday Marci

I created yet a 2nd card using the cutest li'l image by LaLa Land Crafts called BIRTHDAY MARCI. She was released as a digi for one week only -- did you get her? Birthday Marci

Hi there! I hope you're having a great Sunday so far! I've enjoyed a great weekend as my sister and niece came down for a few days, and we actually got some stamping done, and shared a lot of laughs! Our mom came over too and spent an afternoon crafting with us! One of these days we're gonna get her a blog so she can post her creations and join in some fun with our challenges ;P

Kathy and I are posting our BIRTHDAY MARCI cards we made this weekend with the new Birthday Marci digi that was released a couple weeks ago at LaLa Land Crafts. She was available for one week only and has gone away now... just for a bit, but the good news is that she will be part of the new collection being released September 15th in rubber!!

LOC - Faith Art Friday

Happy Friday!! It's going to be a great day today I already know it! ;P My sister and mom are coming over to stamp with me! I can't remember the last time we all got to craft together--prolly a couple years! My niece is coming over too for the weekend. *Ü*

Today I have the honor of hosting Layers of Color's "Faith Art Friday" on their blog. I must say that I've been feeling a loss of mojo lately, and I spent way more time than "normal" on this card. In fact, the first one I worked on 2 hrs. and I ended up not taping anything down on it. This is a completely separate attempt and I like how it came out.

I used Flowering Gems clear art stamp set from Layers of Color in which I paper pieced. This stamped sentiment/verse was sent to me from a friend. It looks like it could be from ODBD. The paper is Capella, by Basic Grey. I have a little devotional about this verse over at Layers of Color if you care to pop over and read. Have a wonderful day! *Ü*

Arrr! Talk Like a Pirate Day is Sept. 19th!

Ahoy! (Hello) This is my 2nd post for today, so if you're looking for the LaLa Weekly Wednesday Challenge please CLICK HERE.

I just couldn't wait to show you my Pirate Luka card! Isn't he cute?! He's a new character and goes with Marci, both drawn by Irina herself! He is also part of the Halloween collection coming out in rubber on September 15th. However, you can buy him right now as a DIGI in the shop for ONE WEEK ONLY! Then he'll be gone until Sept. 15th when he returns with some adorable halloween Marci's!!

For my card I paper pieced his knapsack with some red hankerchief (paper), the bottle cap letters spell "Arrg" and I made a sailor's knot with the green twine *Ü* I'm pretty happy with how this came out. Oh, and the image colored with Copics. Thanks for popping by today!

LLWWC #50 - Candy Cane Clover
