Carousel Tissue Box Cover

Happy Sunday and a Happy Halloween to you!! 

Yup... my 3rd tissue box cover this week!  LOL.  Can't have too many ya know!  Actually, my sister Kathy has been wanting to try one and so we made it our "sister challenge" for this week.  We also came across some awesome FREE DIGIS at Beccy's Place and decided to use this cute Christmas Carousel Horse.  Be sure to click over to Kathy's Blog and see her cute box with this horse.   

 I added clear sparkly gellyroll pen to the pole and jingle bells on the bridle, saddle and his feet wraps.  It's hard to get a good picture of the sparkle.  Ü

Double-y Delightful Giraffes

Are you ready for another DOUBLE DELIGHT challenge? 

I have 2 cards to share today, and I'm extra excited about this freebie because Faith drew this week's image as a request from me!  My girls are getting ready for a robotics Lego competition in December and they needed team T-shirts.  They came up with a group name, "The Laughing Giraffes" and so I asked Faith if she could draw us some and she was inspired to draw...

CHALLENGE: 

Use these laughing giraffes (or just one of them) and add some texture to your card by embossing!  Faith shared some neat embossing ideas recently ... like running a dishcloth through your cuttlebug etc.  Be as creative as you'd like!  If you don't have an embossing machine, please feel free to create texture using another method.  Be sure to hop over to Kathy's Blog too and leave her some love while you're there!!

Here's my first card using these cute giraffes. 

My light yellow Copic ran out after coloring my first one so I resorted to other colors *Ü* (2nd card up top.)

New Studio 313 Release at M5D!

Hi!  I'm back with yet another tissue box cover! LOL.  I just think these are so cool.  Easy to make and fun to add lots of different images to!  I just love Shawne's cute digis from Studio 313 (available exclusively now at McMahon Five Designs!)... this new set is called "Mellow Out".

 This new digi set has 4 different cups, 3 have the cutest li'l marshmallows in them... and 4 sentiments as well for a total of 8 digis!  You can buy them exclusively at McMahon Five Designs.  (You can get them in JPG or PNG formats for only $5.95 and they come with precolored images as well as line drawing!!)

Fall Marci Tissue Box Cover

Today's my turn to post on the La-La Land Blog and I have this fun project to share!  I saw this tissue box cover in the SCS Weekly Inkling and just had to try it.  There's no bottom to it, and the "lid" is glued on so these are real simple to lift up and switch out the tissues!  I think I'll make one for each season for my desk at the office =)  

For 2 of the sides I stamped Winter Marci and colored her in Fall colors to match the designer paper.  Isn't she just the sweetest??  LOVE her!   Definately one of my faves in this winter release from LaLa Land Crafts!  All paper, cardstock and embellishments used here is from the October Key Ingredients kit from Taylored Expressions.  I used Labels 13 to cut the opening in the lid.

Scarecrow Bear says... Give Thanks!

Hi and happy Tuesday!!  Our challenge this week at Scrap-Creations is to make a Thanksgiving card OR a Thank You card.  Before I go any further about my card, I just want to say that Kristen's having a hard time right now as her cousin's son Ethan has received more heartbreaking news.  If you aren't familiar with Ethan, you can read about this amazing young man on Kristen's blog.  Please remember Kristen's whole family in your prayers and stop by and leave her lotsa love this week!  

Okay... let's see... The theme is Thanksgiving and I had this beautiful Autumn paper from my Key Ingredients kit this month (from Taylored Expressions) and so I let the paper do the talkin'.   This cute scarecrow bear is FREE this week for members of Designed 2 Delight, or... if you missed out on getting him for free, you can buy the whole set of 8 for only $4 HERE.  Faith really did a fabulous job on this set didn't she?  Love it!

M5D Breast Cancer Freebie 4 U!!

EDITED to add cards by my lovely Design Sisters!!  (see below) Our DT Sister, Bonnie  has been feeling down since learning the news that her friend, Elise was recently diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Many of us have followed Jacque's journey this year with Breast Cancer.  We are all affected by this disease in one form or another and we can all do one thing to protect ourselves.  SELF EXAMS!  It's quick and simple and can save your life.

The M5D girls rallied together this past week to not only cheer up our sweet Bonnie's spirits but to help bring Awarness to such an important issue that affects us all.  

To put our efforts in action, we came up with the this  

FREE Breast Cancer Bear Digital Stamp 

BUT 

there is one stipulation before you download him.  

You have to promise to perform a self exam!  

It's on God's Honor System and we know you will 

do this for Yourself ...and... your Family!

I made a card with a detachable ornament using this cute bear!  (I made him into a polar bear, but you can make him into a brown teddybear or other color would be cute too!)  It can be used to hang on a tree ... or your recipient can hang it somewhere year-round to remind her to do her monthly self exam.  Also, this week's challenge at Stampin' Sisters in Christ is to use a pink ribbon on your card or project.

I admit I wasn't too thrilled about this one at first but I think I did okay with it and actually like the outcome =)  Besides, what is a sketch challenge if it's not "challenging"?  Then I made the mistake of telling her "I can handle whatever you throw at me Carly"... so she drew up her next sketch.  Just wait til you see #16!  LOL - I double dare ya to play along in her sketches with me!!   *Ü*

SSCC61 - Whispered in Prayer

Good Monday morning!  I want to share a card I made while designing for Layers of Color because they have just released some brand new CLING MOUNT stamps in red rubber and they are just so gorgeous!!  The one I used here is called Rose Blossom Frame... and it's only $9.95 and fits Spellbinders Labels 16.  In fact many of their new rubber stamps work with various Spellbinders dies. 

CHALLENGE:

My card fits perfectly for this week's Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge this week because the challenge is to create a card/project that features prayer; either someone praying, or a verse about prayer, or a greeting that lets someone know you are praying for them. 

The challenge was inspired by Jesus' Prayer, which is found in Matthew 6:9-13 "Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever, Amen."

One player will win this gorgeous CLEAR ART STAMP SET from Layers of Color (one of my favorite butterfly sets!!)

My card will go to my friend Cindy who is a breast cancer survivor of ... about 10 years now.  She is amazingly strong and I'll never forget all that she went through with chemo treatments... mastectomy... etc. while having 3 kids AND attending college to get her masters degree to teach!!  She even took care of my daughter Carly when she was only 18 months during this time while I was living at the McDonald House.  I had a preemie in the NICU for almost a month.  She is just amazing!  Now she teaches ESL at my daughter's elementary school.
