A Different Kind of Peace...

Ladybug Kaela Easel Card

Hey there, li’l LADY!!

Here’s a new Kaela digi in the D2D shop called Ladybug Kaela… cute huh? You will get lots of variations in the file when you purchase this, including a white-filled Kaela w/ no background so you can layer her directly on some digi papers like I’ve done here! I then colored her with Copics and added some black faux stitching and flowers and flourishes. I’m having fun making shaped easel cards. You should try it!!

I was in a hurry last night and whipped this up while the fam watched a favorite tv show. This image is called Kitten by McMahon Five Designs. Love this cute li’l vintage kitty. My sister sent me this vellum poem called Mother of Girls and I thought it was perfect with this Marci. I think I might have to frame this card or add a ribbon hanger for the wall *Ü*

Introducing Little Frieda and Lulu - Mischief

Have you heard?? There's a NEW STAMP SHOP in town!! Well, it's in everyone's town, because you can get there online! My friend Lisa Hjulberg has followed her dream of opening her own online stamp store called The Craft's Meow and, as you may have read on the Craft's Meow Blog, today is the store's official GRAND OPENING DAY!

While she doesn't have a "DT" per say, she does have lots of "Friends of the Craft's Meow Shop" who have volunteered to sample some of her fabby stamps and share them with our readers! If you'd like to see what her other friends made, please see the list on today's blog post HERE.

For my card, I inked up this adorable scene featuring Little Frieda and LuLu - Mischief (Lulu is her cat). Can you believe she's gonna let that birdie out of it's cage? Shhhh, quiet! We don't wanna wake him up! She doesn't actually have a party hat on her... I added that and turned this into a PARTY INVITE! The papers I used are from this month's Key Ingredients kit. Speaking of which... Oh my goodness, The Craft's Meow is not only carrying this cute line of stamps, and LaBlanche stamps as well, but also beeeautiful paper kits! And they are awesome! They will also include stamps designed by Claire Brennan (of Waltzing Mouse Stamps). You've gotta race over and see for yourself! I hope I get there before you do though or they might be gone! LOL.

D2D - Caring Kaela Stand Up Card

Happy Friday!! Today was the last day of school before Spring Break for the kids. I picked up my mom and we went to the Talent Show at the Middle School for the last hour and a half. My older daughter Carly sang in it and was fabulous! She was so nervous though understandably! She had me get up early today to curl her hair in ringlets and it turned out so cute. Here’s a pic I snapped just before school today.

So my card today showcases the cute new digi set called “Caring Kaela” by Designed 2 Delight! I first saw this card by Lorraine so I searched SCS forums and found instructions for this Stand Up card and thought I’d try it! This fun set comes with so many images, with or w/o a smile, butteflies or w/o, tulips, scenes or individual! So I used my picket fence punch and grass die to create this cute li’l scene. Whaddaya think??

Here’s the pattern I followed. It’s sooo SIMPLE too! (click the pick to enlarge for detail).
1) Cut your cardstock to 12” x 5.5” and score horizontally at 2”, 4”, 8”, and 10”
2) On the 2 outside ends, measure down 3” from the top and make a pencil mark. Then using your cutter, make a diagonal cut from that mark to the TOP of your 4” score. Discard that cut-off triangle.
3) Then just fold and decorate!! Easy Peasy!! SCS also has a gallery of these if you’d like more inspiration!

Asian Garden – SSIC “Treasures of the Heart”

Today’s Stampin’ Sisters in Christ challenge is hosted by Lovely Linda! She chose Matt. 6:21 (above) and her challenge is so fitting: Use something you treasure on your card - whether it be bling, flowers, something new or have been saving for a long time - show us your treasures!

About My Card: I chose to use my new digi set from Doodle Pantry called Asian Garden. Love how peaceful this scene is… and who wouldn’t treasure peace in their life? This card is full of my crafting treasures, like this designer paper from Prima called Madeline (which sounds like my daughter Madalyn, who I treasure *wink*), pearls, and satin ribbon.

My Thoughts: Sometimes I get crafting things that I absolutely love and just have a hard time using it because once I do I won’t have it anymore. That’s prolly where hoarding comes from, ya think? Going back the Scripture, I want to share a little bit more of the surrounding verses. “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matt. 6:19-21 When wealth is coveted, and is a priority in our life, it becomes a god. And “No one can serve two masters.” Matt. 6:24. If you think about it this way… the things that we have on earth that can be burned up by a fire… damaged in a flood… lost or stolen from us, those are the things that this verse is talking about and can cause our heart great disappointment, but if we cherish the things of heaven, they cannot be taken away and will never disappoint. They are “reserved in heaven for you" and "kept by the power of God through faith".

I think we’d all agree that our family is very much a treasure and priority in our life… but so are my friends and blogging buddies out there too (to a different extent of course), but none the less, you all lift me up and encourage me and who I run to when I’m either bored, frustrated, hurting, or excited—think of all the things we blog about! And this SSIC challenge is a “treasure” too because we are investing in things of heaven, which is perhaps why I went back to the team. To spread God’s Word to a large community of crafters, some of who might not hear the Scriptures otherwise, and to fellowship with other believers and lift each other up. (The things God instructs us to do.)

Anyways, I think that Linda created this challenge so that we get out those things we love (and hoard) and use them in our creation this week. Give it away to someone from your heart. It won’t do anyone good if it sits in a drawer! LOL.

Happy Go Lucky Mouse – a Zigzag Tutorial

Hi and happy Saturday! I am happy to report that I am back to crafting again!! Thanks for the prayers and emails. My hand is healing really well, not 100% there, but it's been less than a week since my surgery. They say give it about 6 weeks and could take up to a year for full recovery, but as good as it is right now, I'm just happy I can get back to my crafts (although washing dishes I could do without for a few more weeks, but I've already had to return to those as well – ugh). *Ü*

Well, with all the happenings called “LIFE” and starting my new DT last month, it’s been a while since I made anything using Designed 2 Delight images, which I love as well! Faith has created some fun St. Patty’s Day Digis and sets and this is one of them… isn’t he cute? (why do I always think of mice as male?? Maybe cause it’s close relation to a rat?? LOL! totally kidding)… I even used PINK on this and it still looks like a boy. ANYWHO…

This mouse is called St. Pat’s Mouse and you can get him HERE. The sentiment I used is by Doodle Pantry, and the digi papers are by Studio 313 here. I decided to try another Zigzag fold card for this li’l guy. I don’t attempt this fold often because last time it was a pain for me to convert cm to inches and the only instructions I found out there were in cm, so I created my own version in inches. You can of course click the pic to enlarge photo and save if you’d like.

Ta-Da! {Magician Luka}

Wanna go to the circus?Luka does, and he’s dressed up and ready to go! =) I made this card weeks ago for winter CHA using Magician Luka (now available in both rubber and digi) and some stars and circus elements that I cut out using my Cricut and the “Create-a-Critter” cartridge. This li'l guy just CRACKS ME UP with his li'l shorts and cowboy boots. But isn't that what li'l boys do?? Dress up in whatever they can find? Love it!! Irina and Eric did such a great job with this playtime collection. My husband actually convinced me to make his li'l boots STRIPED! LOL. He thought that'd be "soo cool" to have striped cowboy boots (for real!… or maybe not LOL)

Cuddly Bear Kleenex Holder

Hi there! Bet ya thought you wouldn’t hear from me this week, didja? I was good and pre-posted some things for your viewing pleasure while I am recovering from surgery… wasn’t that nice of me? LOL! (JK) So I wanted to use this adorable Cuddly Bear set (Kaitlyn got me hooked!) from Doodle Pantry and I thought, wouldn’t he look cute with a box of tissues in his lap? But I don’t draw very well, so I Googled “digi stamp kleenex” and guess what popped up??
This adorable “Mini Kleenex Package Holder” tutorial by the very talented Maria Bell! She created this simple design in 2009. It was so easy to make and perfect for this cute li’l guy! Oh wait, I think she’s a girl (with those lace curtains and pretty colors and all! LOL)

I paper pieced the pillow and bedspread. I first printed him on copy paper, half-way down the page, then I taped a piece of designer paper in the right spot and ran it back thru. Then I repeated for the 2nd designer paper, cut them out and taped them onto the bear layer! Whala! Oh, then I pop dotted him to the backdrop for dimension.
The sentiment came from the Turtle Hello digi set, also by DP.

I admit, I've missed the spiritual food for thought over there at SSIC on a weekly basis and had been giving returning there some thought recently, so when a couple of my past “sisters” came hinting for me to come back and that there was a spot or two open, I knew the timing was right. =) Thanks to all the girls there for giving me such a warm welcome “home” {{♥}}

I know many stampers who make a card and then search for every possible challenge that fits what they made, and that's all fine and well, but this challenge has so much more to offer, and is yours for the taking!! Meditating on God's Word and then incorporating that into your creation... or just be inspired by it is unique and satisfying. Psalm 19:14 says, "May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer." And then it's also mentioned again in Psalm 104:34, "May my meditation be pleasing to him, as I rejoice in the LORD." So by us meditating on God’s Word, we are pleasing Him. We were created for His glory and to bring praises to His name, so it’s a good thing what the Stampin’ Sisters are doing, and why we created that challenge blog to begin with. God made us all with a spiritual need, and although it's not by any means limited to "just" a weekly Scriptural card challenge, I believe that if you participate in the capacity that's available and meditate on the Scripture being shared, that He will meet you where you are and bless you greatly for it.

For my card, I used my daughter’s newest sketch at Sketches by Carly! The flower bouquet is a digi set called Mini Rose Pot, by Doodle Pantry and colored with Copics. *Ü* THe paper I used is from a GORGEOUS new paper pad by Prima called Madeline. Lattice punch is Martha Stewart and the pearl are Opaline.

Doodle Pantry Release Day!

It's also my first official day as a “Creative Team Member” *Ü* I maybe got a little over-zealous as I created not one card, but 2 projects to share with you, using the new set "Fancy Shoe." I love this vintage style shoe… and there’s lots of fabulous sentiments in it as well. (the set, not the shoe!)

For my next project, I made another 4 drawer easel card. I did take extra pics to share a tutorial with you in a few days. I wanted to try to have that up for you today but my hand is hurting too much to stay on here very long. I’m set to have carpal tunnel surgery on my rt. hand this Monday a.m. Will be such a relief as the pinched nerve has been keeping me up most nights. :(

I chose this red and white beauty:

M5D Digi Release Day - "I AM..."

Thursday already?? Woohoo, it's almost the weekend!! Kathy, hope you're coming down to visit this weekend... putting in a request with Mother Nature for ya! *Ü*

Today is New Digi Release Day at McMahon Five Designs! And, by the way, if these photos look a bit blury to you, please click on them to see them in original size and detail. I also created this with the Stampin' Sisters in Christ challenge in mind, which is to use GREEN somewhere in your card. The first time I read that, I thought it had to be MOSTLY green instead of just incorporated, so pardon my "Kermit the Frog" resemblance here, LOL! Speaking of frogs... be sure to read Peggysue's devotion this week. Frogs in the oven, frogs on the chair, frogs frogs everywhere!! *Ü*

I’ve been having fun using my new Octagon Nesties so I decided to try one of the those easel cards using a shaped card. LOVE these!! The digi I used here called “I Am the Lord" was created by Sue "Mick MaHoon" *wink* (that's what my daughter calls her, lovingly of course!!) It's a beautiful verse with a gorgeous dragonfly that I enhanced with stickles. Had fun with my mixture of Spellbinders dies, and the paper is from the Prima collection called "Annalee." Psssst… just got word that lots of new Prima paper pads have been added to the store!

Marci’s Sittin’ Pretty in LaLa Land!

Hello. Thursdays are new digi release days at McMahon Five Designs, including Fairy Doodler, McMahon Digis, Studio 313, Solocosmo, and McMahon Vintage… a little something for everyone!

I adore Studio 313’s digi called Cherry Blossoms and Butterflies AND the digi papers to match! I added one of my favorite verses to her digi, it’s from Matthew 6:21 “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” I thought it was perfect since I made a treasure box (jewelry box).

I used some of the real wood paper for my easel card and the drawer fronts, and I punched the top corners out of the wood paper with a Fancy Corners Cuttlebug die. The flowers have stickles in the centers too. Here are a couple more pics …

I have a very special card to share today. My boss asked me to make a card with a music theme for a lady at church who has played the piano and organ for more than 50 years! She is having to retire that particular talent due to health reasons, so they're honoring her with a reception a week from Sunday and he wanted it to be an extra large card so that he can have everyone at church sign it. I've never made a card this big... it's 12"x6" and this is what I came up with!

I knew exactly which stamp set to use for this... "Make a Joyful Noise" by one of my "alma maters," Layers of Color. It's a clear stamp set, so I curved the [straight] piano piece on the block, stamped and cut it out (2) for the sides of my sentiment. The musical swags in 2 corners where just what those corners needed, and I added the Treble Clef I cut out and then mounted on black c.s. and cut out for a mat.

The white "M" and "C" are for the lady's initials. The paper is from the free DP pack I got for buying $50 of SU! supplies during their Sale-a-bration promotion.

I forgot to take pictures of the inside, but I punched the inside corners with a fancy punch and stamped the straight piano keys down the outside edges.

Here's a couple more close-up pics of the front. I added stickles to the butterfly and li'l crystal twinkles to the prima flowers and swags. I am just a tad worried that if too many people handle this that some of the things might come off... so I advised my boss to maybe keep it on a table in a room and have people go in to sign it. Might keep it in better shape than passing it around, ya think?? LOL

Well, today was a good day. My youngest daughter went to a slumber party at a friend's house after school, so we took Carly to the park and played basketball-- good time to give her some pointers before her game tomorrow. She actually made a ton of baskets tonight!! One of the guys on her team showed up at the park too so we had a good time with them. Tomorrow's my birthday, and we don't really have "special" plans... doing the norm and watching the girls' BBall game in the morning. Maybe they'll make a basket especially for me *Ü* -- then maybe go out for lunch or dinner. What more could a mom want? =)

P.S.
a SCAL maybe???!!!! LOL! (that's the Sure Cuts a Lot software that works with your cricut machine, in case you didn't know, heehee!) I'll keep ya posted on that one! ;-P Just kidding. I'm healthy and happy so all is good!

Fairy Doodler came out with a bunch of really cute digis this week with a SEWING theme! And Sue made up some really creative sentiments to go with! Pilot Luka... Ready for Take Off!

Hello... hope your Wednesday is treating you well? My daughter is well enough to go back to school--YAY! Boy, was my internet giving me fits last night as I was trying to change up my blog! I think it was either MSN or just IE in general because I could use Firefox and Google Chrome just fine. Of course it took me about an hour and lots of frustration before it dawned on me to try another browser! LOL. Oh well... such is life!

For tonight's card, I decided to break out of my "normal" rectangle shaped card and go a little crazy and have pieces hanging off the edge of the card base. Meet Ally, New Character at LLLC

Hello. Hope you're having a fun Saturday so far? I'm getting ready to go to my girls' basketball game today, but thought I'd post another card first. This is Ally, a new character at La-La Land Crafts! She's a totally different style of character than the Marcis and Lukas, but kinda "sassy" too. She's the first in a line called The Girlfriends Collection.

The chair* is not part of the stamp, but I had this one in a rubber stamp and so I masked Ally, then stamped the chair over her, hoping the placement was right and can you believe, it came out PERFECT placement on my first try!!

I've got LOTS more samples made with the new Marci and Luka stamps too, so stay tuned in the coming days/weeks for those!! =)

Digi Release Day - Sugar Anne

It's Thursday and that means NEW DIGIS are released today at McMahon Five Designs!

This sweet Solocosmo image is called Sugar Anne. Feel free to click on the picture to enlarge because the details in her face are awesome. So realistic. She does appear to be a bit sad... but she has her best friend Kitty so she's not too lonely *Ü*

My paper is from the Prima pad called "Anna Lee" (isn't it gorgeous?!), and of course the exotic real wood paper, I punched with a MS lattice border punch. The rosette behind the sentiment is one of my new FAVES to add to cards and easy to make! And of course the pretty prima flowers and Spellbinders dies: Doodle Parts and Labels 10.

I'm entering this into the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge this week, which was to use Blue & Green as the predominate colors in your card. Hop on over to read this week's Bible verse and devotional and then take the card challenge!

Fundraiser for My Daughter

DREAM ON - The Revolve Tour, 2011

My daughter (age 12) is trying to raise money so she can go on "The Revolve Tour" in March with her Middle School Girls Christian Youth Group. If you don't know what this is, it it much like the Women of Faith Conferences, and was started because of the response by many of the those moms saying "I wish there was something like this for my daughter." It's basically a 2-day inspirational weekend for 6th– to 12th–grade girls that combines award-winning Christian bands and speakers with real, relevant messages in a high-energy event. Which brings me to my li'l fundraiser!! She needs to raise $130 in the next 2 weeks (by Feb. 15th) I'm going to add a ticker in my sidebar so we can track progress.

Paper Pieced Sweetie

Hello! Wednesdays are my day to post for La-La Land Crafts so I give you Sweeheart Marci! She's from the latest Valentine Collection. Every time I sit down to color up this adorable Marci I remember my daughters when they were small and wore their hair in pigtails just like this, giggling and making homemade valentines. (now they won't hardly let me touch their hair, boohoo!)

I really enjoy these cute Marci stamps and this is definately one of my faves. I decided to paper piece her dress to match the background paper. And her buttons are tiny twinkles (small rhinestones) that I got in my Key Ingredients kit in December. And then the pink ball-tipped pins kinda resemble the pony holders in her hair and add a fun element to the card. I always dip the ends of pins in crystal effects and hold it til it dries and creates a protective ball on the ends so nobody gets poked ;)

For February our theme is Natural Elements. Go ahead and find natural elements to add to your card this month! Pull out some of the items you haven't used in a while or haven't even tried yet! For my card, I used the M5D digi called "Adorable Sea Turtle" and made a shadow box card! I cut the fishbowl out of the front using my Create-a-Critter Cricut cartridge and placed an acetate sheet behind it for the glass look. I also added colored stickles to the seaweed and Flower Soft for the coral and other pretty sea fluff. And of course, what would a fish bowl be w/o marbles? So I added some clear dew drops.

NOW comes the "natural elements" challenge... I used some real shells that we found on the beach the last time we went (a few years ago). Oh, and can't forget the Doodle Parts by Spellbinders for the tall sea grass on the outside of the box.

Hello. Kathy and I have a new challenge going on at Double Delight Challenges! Kathy's challenge for us is to...

I chose Beccy's image "Bucket of Blossoms"... she also has this digi in full color and it's beautiful! Cozy Gazebo - "Remember When..."

So have you seen all the fabulous new releases at Doodle Pantry yet? OH, they are so awesome. I just HAD to get this "Cozy Gazebo" as it's so versatile and full of potential--- with just a li'l wood paper, and Flower Soft it really comes alive! (you can click the pic for a closer look)

For my sunset, I played a little in my photoshop program. Really all I did was create a rectangle and then gave it a "Gradient Overlay" (there's several rainbow choices). This one seemed perfect for a sunset, although I did tone it down with the contrast a bit. Then I gave it an "Inner Shadow" and turned up the texture on it which gave this nice sand or wood grain effect. Then I cut it out leaving some white around and layered it onto some real wood (Bird's Eye wood) and sponged the edges with a cocoa ink. The Sign Hanger is a Sizzix die by Tim Holtz. Kinda makes it look like a realty sign... almost =) The white scalloped border up top ties in the scallops in the gazebo digi. And last but certainly not least, I added some pretty Flower Soft to the bushes and trellis' and added some prima flowers in the corner.

Challenge #6 is up at Doodle Pantry and the theme is LOVE (ie. Anniversary, Valentine's, I love You, etc.) I used the set "LOVE BIRDIES" that I got for FREE in the last challenge! Aren't they the "Tweetest"?? *Ü*

This paper is from one of my Taylored Expressions' Key Ingredients kits a while back and is perfect for this birdhouse image. Although my daughter Maddy asked if the birds were in an APPLE! Lol. Silly girl. Although it IS green like one!

I ♥ Thursdays… know why? Almost the weekend yes, but it’s also NEW DIGI RELEASE DAY at McMahon Five Designs!!

For my card I used the new hand-drawn image by Shawne of Studio 313 called Winter's Champion. I ♥ horses, so I had fun coloring this one up to look just like our neighbor's horse "Grey"... hence the spots around the eyes. You can see Sue's card with this gorgeous horse down below too!

It’s also the THIRD THURSDAY of the month, which means we offer a “FREE Awareness Digi” which was started this last October to remind women to check themselves each month. So now we offer a new freebie on the 3rd Thursday if you promise to check yourself first!

A Sweet Sliding Pop Up Card

Happy Wednesday!! A new Weekly Inkling (online newsletter from SCS) was delivered to my inbox today and it had this cute new style of card... the "Sliding Pop Up Card" by Kim Score. So I tried it using the new Sugar n' Spice Marci -- she's perfect for my daughter to take to a birthday party next weekend.
Here's a couple more pics. It also folds up flat so you can put it in a regular A2 size envelope.

Cricuts, B-Ball and Other Stuff

Hi, yes I'm still here! Thanks to those who emailed asking if I was okay--and it's only been a few days since I posted *Ü* You girls are the best! Believe it or not, although I haven't been posting everyday, I HAVE been on a crafting spree.... just can't show you all yet! We're working on releasing a bunch of new La-La stamps/digis at CHA so I've been making samples for that. But stay tuned... cause there's tons more cuteness coming your way very soon!!

Yesterday was a fun day. I took the girls to a Cricut Party! There were about 6 of us with Cricuts and we got to share cartridges and had a blast. As I stated in my "Spotlight Interview" I love getting together with friends and chatting and having a great time. Ellen brought in Subway sandwiches and brownies half way through. BUT... when I am with others I rarely get anything done. Which is why I have no card to show--I didn't actually make one, LOL. I spent the whole time cutting things out for my girls. They had a blast! Carly was working on a school project (for the dog sledding in Oregon) and so we cut out some dogs and snowflakes etc for her story board. Maddy made a big fish bowl with a castle, seahorse and some other li'l animals. I guess I should've taken pics of those to share with you today but didn't get that far.

On a side note, both our girls have started basketball every weekend. This is their first year of it (they're in 5th and 6th grades). I never thought I'd be the kind of mom to yell from the stands, but I guess I kinda AM! I was "coaching" from the stands more than their dad--prolly not a good thing for the kids? We realized we need to coach them during the week (practicing) and leave our voices at home during their games. Anyway, now that their 4-H FLL is done competing, they aren't meeting quite as much, which is a good thing since they've started B-ball. Oh, and Carly has been going to Youth Group at church these last few weeks and loves it, so it seems when one thing tapers off, 2 more start up! Such is life with preteens/teenagers eh?!

We're also going to start the transformation of our garage into the girls new bedroom soon. Hubby already has some blueprints and has bought the insullation. Hoping to start on some before the permit as we only have a certain amount of time after buying your permit to complete it. Lord help us to get it done w/o having to pay for outside help! Hubby actually helped when our house was being built and he's a fabricator and mechanic so his brain is kinda wired to know these things I think. I don't know why I'm writing a book here, just to let you know I'm still alive! LOL. I'll have something crafty to share this evening or tomorrow. Have a terrific Tuesday!!

I’m in the SPOTLIGHT!

Well, in my “real life” I can’t say I like being in the spotlight! I grew up as a P.K. (Pastor’s Kid) and it wasn’t fun being under pressure and living up to people’s expectations of me all the time. But this kind of spotlight I don’t only not mind, it’s FUN and an honor!!

A few short days ago I was contacted by Linda Lucas from CDAC (Crafter’s Digital Art Center) to ask if she could “Spotlight me” in a special forum in which I was interviewed about my experience with digi stamps and their site, etc. Of course I was very excited and happily accepted, so I am Spotlight Member #11. (wow, what a gorgeous blog badge too! THANK YOU!!!) You can also find the other 10 members who’ve been spotlighted so far HERE. It’s quite the honor esp. since it has grown to over 4,000 members over there!! She also pulled all my digi cards over at CDAC into a slideshow at the end of my interview, which I also pasted below.

Hope you’ll come on over – IF ya feel like reading a li’l “Book” about me and digital stamping and what I love about CDAC!! LOL…. no, it’s really not that long, I promise!!

I’m so happy you buzzed on by today because first of all, my daughter Carly was asked to create a sketch for the Flutterby Wednesday Challenges DT today!! Go Carly! I recently got an email from a friend who told me about a fellow crafter, Katie Emmerson Renz, married to Kevin with 3 beautiful boys: the twins Nate & Will aged 5 and Hunter aged 10 had some news just before Christmas that has rocked their world as they know it.

Katie has been diagnosed with stage 4 Stomach Cancer and is currently undergoing her only option which is Chemotherapy.

Oh, my heart just sank when I read that. You can read about her story on Katie's blog. The reason I’m posting this for you all though is that many digi artists are coming together to do a fundraiser to help Katie and her family with medical expenses and something special for her 3 young boys.

You can GO HERE to read more about the fundraiser… please do as there are pictures of the family and pics of all the wonderful digi sets being donated for this special cause. Everyone who donates the asking amount (£15) will get ALL 20 of the digi sets, which is a great value! and what’s more is that every time you donate, you get your name into the hat for one of the FABULOUS PRIZES that were donated included a whole (148) set of Letraset Markers!! And better yet, you will be helping their family during this burdensome time.

Shawne of Studio 313 designed a cute Whale Set which you will receive with your donation. I made a nameplate wall hanging with it for my nephew’s new baby boy, Carson.

ABOUT MY CARD:
This card features "CLARA" from Fairy Doodler. Isn't she cute? The pink paper I used has flowers all over it and was the first thing I thought of when I decided on this image. (Looks hawaiian to me)

The black piece behind my main image is hard to see, but it's an accordian medallion that I first punched with a floral border (Martha Stewart punch). There's more dimension to it than you can see in this photo. (just have to trust me on that *wink*)

My sister Kathy and I did a "sister challenge" using any Doodle Pantry image (there's LOTS of Freebies on their website to grab and use!!) and we used the following color combo:

In case you missed it, Doodle Pantry just released several new digi sets yesterday, including this fun set called "Critter Toppers" which come atop a heart. You can also buy them individually in both line and colored versions.

I didn't use the heart in the set, but instead layered my Nestabilities Scalloped Hearts. I also used the turtle from "Turtle Hello" set and the sentiment is from "A Loving God" set using Ps. 145:8 because we all know turtles go slooow, and so I thought it went well with this particular verse.
